MC Carra graduated at the Dental School of the University of Parma, Italy, in 2007. She obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Montreal, Canada, in 2012 and she completed the 3-year postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University Paris Diderot in 2015. MC Carra is an EFP Alumni, and she serves as director of the EFP-accredited postgraduate program in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the Periodontal and Oral Surgery Unit of the Service of Odontology of the Rothschild Hospital in Paris from 2020 to 2024.
MC Carra’s academic career began in France, where she was appointed Assistant Professor in 2014, Associate Professor in 2017, and Full Professor of Periodontology in 2021 at the Université Paris Cité (former Université Paris Diderot). She is currently Professor at the Faculty of Odontology, Departement of Translational Medicine of the University of Ferrara, Italy.
As a clinician, MC Carra have a clinical practice dedicated to periodontology, implant dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. As researcher, MC Carra’s works contributed to the epidemiological and clinical knowledge in the filed of periodontal medicine, particularly on the relationships between periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases, dental sleep medicine, prevention and risk factor control, and oral health related quality of life.
